Balloon FAQ's

We use Latex balloons and Mylar (Foil) balloons to create amazing balloon decorations.

Latex balloons are earth friendly and come from rubber trees. Latex is collected by cutting the tree’s bark, then catching the latex in a cup. Latex harvesting does not hurt the tree. Some people are sensitive to Latex and should use caution when Latex products are used. For more information on sensitivity to Latex, please consult a medical professional.

A: If your looking for a balloon decorator in Maryland, Extra POP by Yolanda is based in Owings Mills, Maryland. We will travel to where ever  you are in Maryland...A travel fee may be applied -contact us for more information.

A: Our prices are lower than others because we believe in providing affordable solutions to our customers without compromising on quality. We have optimized our processes and resources to ensure that we can offer competitive pricing while still delivering exceptional products and services

Q: How far in advance should I order?

A: Typically, it's recommended to book your event at least 1 months in advance to ensure availability and to have enough time for planning and preparation. However, it ultimately depends on the type and size of the event, as well as the availability of the venue and vendors. However, if you should find yourself without much time left before your event, don't let that stop you from contacting Extra POP by Yolanda today at (443)743-4302. Q: Can we meet  face to face?

A: We are always happy to meet face to face when at all possible however most times it is not needed to book your ever. We encourage you to take pictures or video's of the space.  This gives us a chance to discuss your vision and for us to gather information about your event plans.  We can often meet at your event venue, depending on the distance and schedule. *Additional fee's maybe included to your final invoice for travel.
 

Q: How long will my balloons last?
A: It all depends!  Balloon arches and columns that are air- filled can last for days even weeks before they start to deflate. Air-filled arches and columns are constructed using a framework to support them. Air-filled balloons maybe the best option if you need your balloon decorations to last  for a longer period of time. Generally, indoors you can count on helium filled balloons to last at least four to six hours of float time for latex balloons. Latex balloons can also be treated with a preservative, which allows them to float for a bit longer; however, there is an additional fee to have your balloons treated . Please keep in mind even with  treated balloons, eventually the helium will seep out. Foil balloons (Mylar balloons) usually last  days. Although they may float for weeks, they start to lose Helium and wrinkle in as little as a couple of days.  


Outside it really depends! When using Latex balloons outside, many factors can affect how long balloons can float and how they look, too. Weather conditions like heat, rain, wind, or other extreme conditions may cause balloons to come down much faster. Generally, you can expect latex balloons outside to last for about 4 hours. Usually within minutes, a white patina forms on latex balloons used outside making the balloons matte in color. This eliminates their shininess and is due to airborne particulate matter and the natural process of biodegradation.  You may want to consider other types of balloons ,such as foil balloons as an alternative for your outdoor event, since they keep their appearance much better than Latex balloons.  Balloons are, by nature, temporary items: Although Extra-POP by Yolanda uses only the finest quality balloons, some balloons will occasionally deflate sooner than expected and will also be adversely affected by wind, rain, rough handling, sunlight and other uncontrollable factors. Extra-POP by Yolanda  will do everything in our power to make sure the decor will hold up......from using the BEST quality of balloons,  helping you choose colors and balloon, and the type of decor that holds up best in all kinds of weather.  We NEVER guarantee perfect results with balloon decor outdoors. Due to the unexpected circumstances that can occur with any event, we reserve the right to make changes only in the best interest of our clients.

 

 

Q: What are your payment terms?

A: A fifty (50) percent retainer fee is required upon scheduling your date for your balloon decorations. The balance is due in full at least 3 days before your event. Special orders will need to be charged in full at the time you order. Events scheduled less than 2 weeks in advance, will require in-full payment Your retainer payment secures your date and time on our schedule; without payment we can not guarantee our availability. We accept PayPal where you can use most major credit cards to make payment, Zelle, Venmo, CashApp and cash*( cash payments are still due prior to event) for payment. For decorations that require framework, all equipment is the property of Extra POP by Yolanda and will need to be returned following the end of your event unless we let you know otherwise.  For events decorations that require multiple days, a fee may be applied. No refunds are allowed.

Q: What if I need to cancel my order?

A: Your fifty (50) percent retainer fee is considered a non-refundable retainer, which is used to purchase supplies and to secure your event date. By securing your date and time, we agree not to book other events at your date and time, therefore requiring a retainer fee. Cancellations need to be made five (5) days prior to your event ( Please note no refunds will be provided on orders and contract amount must still be paid in full). If you believe that your special circumstances merit a partial credit to your next event, you may make a written request to Extra POP by Yolanda at sales@extrapopbyyolanda.com. Any partial credits will be awarded at the sole discretion of Extra POP by Yolanda.


Unless your specific contract contains language to the contrary, your order must be paid in full if cancellation notice is given with less than five (5) days notice. If you cancel your order with at least five (5) days notice, and you have paid your balance in full, only your fifty (50) percent  retainer fee is lost, the remaining 50% will be credited to another event. NO cash refunds allowed. In the case of extreme circumstances, such as major weather events, travel restrictions, and other civil disturbances, if our schedule allows, rescheduling is an option. All others No Refunds and/or credits allowed. 

Q: Can I make a secure payment online?

A: Great news! You can make a secure payment online for your deposit and balance due payment. Once you receive your invoice via email, you can proceed with the payment using PayPal, Venmo, Zelle, or CashApp.  Alternatively, you can also pay in cash, but please note that special arrangements will need to be made.
